We have developed a proposal for this beautiful home which essentially involves removing all of the first floor (which suffers from low ceiling heights and restricted space throughout). The new design raises the roof level around a ‘ribbon’ of contemporary timber cladding and re-configures the layout to provide a series of generous rooms which will be consistent with the quality or the other parts of the house. The main space is a shared family room, which has a huge picture window to open up views to the local hills.
